Funeral service is 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ed Geron officiating. Interment will follow at Geron Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Todd Weger, Leland Hardcastle, Raylon Davis, Lou Greiner, Billy Patterson, and Thomas Unger.
William was born June 27, 1917 to Charley William and Willie Elois Jemison Geron in Beardtown, Texas. He married Anna Marie Dickey on January 11, 1945 in Fort Worth, Texas. William was a mechanic and painter and was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 65, Dixie Geron of Decatur; daughter, Betty Hunt and husband, Vernon of Decatur; two sons, William Travis Geron, Jr. and wife, Linda of Decatur; Glen Melvin Geron and wife, Beth of Alvord, eight grandchildren, Todd Weger, Cheryl Greiner, Neal Greer, Becky Tackett, Angel Unger, Laura Davis, Julie Hardcastle, Ralonda Patterson; 19 great grandchildren; brother, Charles Geron; sister, Betty McKay; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
William is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George and Floyd Geron; and sister, Lavina Davis.
